Very nice console

This is a very nice restored cup holder console. It was completely stripped of paint, two 1/8" holes in the lower front filled and painted with Sem semi gloss black. I was going to use it but decided to go with a bench seat. The chrome trim does have some light rust & chrome flaking. You can get the chrome trim piece now after market.

$250 / bro + shipping.

Gary

Back up for sale, deal fell through. WIDESIDE72 has first shot if still interested. Also adding pics of seats.

There is a retractable cup holder that goes in place of the ashtray.

Im not aware of a retractable cup holder to be used in place of the ash tray. I have seen several that go in place of the ash tray, but it isnt retractable.

nice console.
there IS a thread with that retractable cup holder somewhere......the ash tray is cannibalized in the process. very slick set up. I looked into it but I think its out of production.

Re: Very nice console

I thought I had seen a retractable cup holder !

Wideside72; Could you live an further away..... "LOL"
The seats are 71-72 from a Jimmy. They're stored in the loft of my shed. I don't have any pics, but could possibly get some if your really interested. It'd been a while since I've looked at them, so I'd need to check them out. From memory the pass seat was better than the ds, but that's normal. Both would need to be re-done. $250 for the seats, + $250 for the console. So $500 + shipping. Now the console wouldn't be any problem shipping, but I've never shipped seats. Do you, or anyone else know the best way to go about this and who to use for shipping ?

Let me know what condition they are in and add some photos here if possible. Any ideawhat condition the foam is in? That makes a huge diffeence in valu, as new foam is $250+..

Re: Very nice console

they stack well with brackets removed and one seat upside down on the other (L7) "L" being 1 seat and "7" the other. the hard part is finding the right size box. some say a U-HAUL wardrobe box is the perfect fit.
I can't say from personal experience. I have only received seats once...in a home made box. it was sent USPS and I have no clue on cost of shipping.

Re: Very nice console

They make a cupholder/console that attaches to a bench seat with straps. Looks pretty decent.

Re: Very nice console

From what I remember the pass side foam wash good the dr side bottom needed work. Just to keep things clear, these item are also for sale locally and there has been interest. No commitments at this time.

I don't have pics of the seats at this time. Due to daylight savings time it's getting dark by the time I get home. So this weekend is probably the time I could get pics.

Re: Very nice console

At this time I have a perspective buy for the console & seats that has someone in the local area that can pick these items up, eliminating the need for shipping. We're in the process of making the arangements, but if this deal falls through I'll post it here !

It seems that custom/10's for sale thread is turning into a cupholder discussion. Could we stay on subject?

Re: Very nice console

Any ideas on shipping cost via the method nobolt mentioned?

I believe i have seen mentioned setting the console in between the seats to ship them.

I recently bought a factory heater delete set up that i dont need as much as i do a set of buckets. I need to do something with it but i dont see it being of ny interest toyou in your part of the country (?)

Re: Very nice console

I would like to get in line, if $600 delivered could make it happen via Greyhound. Also, as nice a job you have done on that console I would package it separate from the seats.

Re: Very nice console

Wideside72 - Monday I'll get a shipping quote, I'll see if I can get it through where I work, they get better rates.

Budnikguy - Don't think I could do it for $600, lets see what I get for a quote for Wideside and go from there.

Re: Very nice console

Ok great...Lmk. Greyhound is a good alternative $ wise. Also, I have used appliance boxes to ship seats and they are fantastic.

Re: Very nice console

Imo, if you bubble wrapped the console, sat it on one seat, turned the other seat upside down as mentioned above, it seems it would be as well protected if not better than packaging it alone. I am not sure if that is possible though due to the size of the console (?) let me know on shipping. I can pick up at the greyhound stationin Austin. I have also used Central Freight.

Re: Very nice console

I'll try and play around with them tomorrow to see what will work for a box or boxes. That way Monday I can call around and get pricing !
