I seen on here that there was a corvette option in 72, this is the first time I even heard or it. What all does it consist of, was it long beds only? Which 350 did they put in it? Anybody have any pics? If this is the case then then you can truly say that there was a 72 muscle truck.

The corvette option was a 454 actually!!! It was pushing 560hp and 580ftlbs of torque at the rear wheels!!! The were long beds cause it was too much motor for a short bed and it had corvette rally wheels!!

Dude Im just yankin your chain!! There was no such option its just an expression for an option someone made up more or less. Hope this helps.

Actually it was a 427 BBC with a M21 4 Speed tranny. Long beds only because of all the torque, it would cause short bed models to spin out when you nailed the gas. Bucket seats only. Also manual brakes and steering, since this was more of a road racer then an actual hauling pick up.

Wrong. It was a very rare option only available on the '72 1/2 long wheel base Cheyenne Super Sport. I know where there's two. One has the extremely rare heated steering wheel wheel option with only .2 original miles showing on the odometer. It's going on e-bay with a "BUY IT NOW" price of $975,000.

There have been a couple people on craigslist and such claim there truck had some kind of corvette option, which there is no proof or evidence to support, so it's become a "running joke" around here

My misunderstanding, I read a thread on here about a someone trying to pass off a short bed with 8 lugs as a corvette option , and it seemed to me eveyone was disquising it as if it was a true option on a long bed. It didn't seem to make sense being that you couldn't even get a 454 in your truck that year.

Hey 67-72chevyman ...that was a fair question. The point is it never existed --but we now use the term as referencing it to a truck that someone claims to have options that were never available for our trucks. Such as a BB 4x4 or a 67 C10 with a factory 402BB. This is why it is good to ask questions and this forum is a great place to ask questions. Some people who sell these trucks just don't know what is factory and what is not while others are just flat out trying to take advantage of potential buyers. You know what they say...buyer beware.

and I know these trucks pretty well, I seen it and thought it was some crazy option that not many known about. I see, its like the 72 chevy I seen on ebay they were trying to pass off as a factory optioned 454, when in fact a 402 was the biggest you could get till 73. Guess mine had the corvette option, it had the dual snorkel air cleaner from a vette when I got it

the Corvette option means that it comes with a big block ..or little blocks all piled up ..'this option will fit 67-72 chevy trucks quite well.. anyway if did for me ..LOL
