Seat Belts...

All right folks, heres the deal. I just got my grandpa's 74 C20 truck, and today when I was looking around in it I noticed that it didn't have a sholder belt. When did they institute having to have sholder belts, and does it matter that its a C20 and a C10 as to why it doesn't have sholder belts? And any opions as to if I should keep lapbelts only or put in sholder belts. Thanks

The mounting points for the sholder belts are available on the B-pillar, just covered up by the interior trim. I don't think sholder belts were mandated until '75 or '76, but were an option on earlier trucks. I too am looking to upgrade mine.
