Brake pads
Anyone have a recommendation on front brake pads that produce little to no brake dust? I've got el cheapo O'Reilly replacement pads on there now and my ralley wheels are completely black after ~200 miles. For an '85 c10 btw.

I use the Wagner Thermo-quiet brand brake apds and get many useable miles out of them and less dust than the cheapies. My O Reilly's is the source in my town. I run billet wheels on my truck and I would recommend the use of a brake dust protector disk on your front wheels. That helps, also.

Those replacement pads are pretty rough on rotors. I havent noticed much brake dust from my PFC pads.

Any ceramic based pad will produce alot less dust than the cheapy semi-metallics.

I use Wagner Thermoquiets as well and haven't had any problems other than squealing because I need to put new rotors on (they are on the floor in my garage). If you can find a fully ceramic pad for it they will reduce the dust but from what I have seen at work can be fairly pricey (at least for the luxury imports I have priced). Check around to some different performance parts sites/catalogs, alot of different, quality pads offered at reasonable prices...

ive used the cheapies all my life, they sell a dust shield you put on behind the rim which is basically a cover that wont let brake dust from behind the rim dont know how well they work but just another suggestion.. the ceramics are the only way i know of to get rid of the brake dust. when you use the truck as basically a work horse you dont care about brake dust
