I'm going to have a friend weld me a toolbox for the back of the truck, but I'm wondering what the dimensions are, or if someone has some pictures of how they fit in the back of the truck etc.

I have the same type of toolbox as PHOENIX. I like it because it doesn't mess up the lines of the truck. The only disadvantage over the type that hangs from the side of the bed is that you can't slide long boards under it. It all depends on what you use your tuck for. To me, preserving the good looks of the truck was most important.

Hmm...I actually want one that hangs from the sides, so like you said, I can slide long boards under it. I'm renovating my house so my truck does get used like a truck...well it did get used until I started the body work

You can go down to Lowes, Home Depot, and even Walmart (I think) and just measure one they have down there.
But if you are building your own, just have him build it perfect for your truck. I am sure you guys could come up with some good ideas. One thing I would consider if I was you is adjustable inside walls (or sections). I have (3) sections in my box, one for tools, one for liquids, and an empty one for whatever I need to toss in there real quick. I just made the walls out of particle board with some all thread rod spacing them apart. That way I can remove it all if I need one big box.

Here's a $40 dollar one I made.....
I didn't use a "factory" one because I knew I would fill it up and it would be real heavy and warp.
