I know you couldn't get me to take it out of one of my parts trucks for $150 but if you found one in a truck that was being parted I'd say at least $100 bill but you own it as is. Also worth much more if the condition is known and gauranteed. Just try calling a few yards like Hansens Truck Parts in Omaha and I bet they quote $175 to $250 for a good open geared read end for one of these pickups. Good luck.

When I went with 3.07's, I paid $150 bucks for the gear set and carrier, used excellent condition.
I then sold my 3.73 gearset for $150 bucks.
The 3.07 gears are in half tons, no specific trucks, some just had that option.

i know someone will correct me if i am offbase, but i thought that 3.07 were the stock gears in a half ton with a 350, and optional in half tons with any other engine. i am not sure about BB apps, tho.

1969 GMC, I think the 3.73 gears are the stock ones. I have a very base model but very original 1971 1/2 ton and it has the 3.73 gears. I wish it did have those 3.07's, Lord, just think of the gas mileage increase!

Dang....$150 for just the gears and carrier....they are cheap around here. Just don't buy a junk one like i did

3.07 gears were standard with 350 and big block trucks for the most part. For 307's and I6's 3.73 was the standard gear. All in half ton trucks. Of course other ratios were optional and anything could have been changed in 32+ years

i thought $150 was excessive also but I wasn't going to comment...for reference, I bought a complete HO52 with 4.57 gears and a factory no-spin for $100. it is from a '66 C/20, came with track bar and drive shaft.

i suppose that the 12b would go for more simply because it is more recognizable than the HO52. who knows

The 3:07's were standard on the 1/2 ton 71- 72's with V8
3:73 was standard on the 6 cylinder models and optional V8
I think 4:11 was also an option on both those years also.

the 20 series used 4:10 standard on 350 smallblock
20 series 402 big block only available with the 3:54 gears.
The 20 series 6 & maybe the 307 was 4:56 standard.

On the earlier trucks, the 3.07 was standard with small block and automatic tranny too. (1/2 ton truck)

I've paid $50 for them (private party) and been quoted $250 from salvage yards. To me $100 is rear fair.
