trans bellhousing?
if i remember correctly the trans in my 67 is an sm465 heavy duty 4spd it is currently mated to a 350 do i need to get a new bell housing to mount it to a 292 or am i able to keep and use the same bellhousing that i have

I believ you'll need the new bellhousing, because of the crossmember being part of the bell housing. The mount in different locations on the frame and the 6 won't fit in the 8 position & vice versa.
If you were going the other way, 6 to 8 and wanted to mount the 8 in the 6 position, then they work fine. The bolting to the engine is not the problem, it's the housing to the frame that is the problem

You could always slide the crossmember to the needed position, but that may prove to be more fun than you want.
 On further thought, I remember when I was a wet behind the ears kid, I threw a 350 in place of a 250 and I didn't swap anything else other than fab a new exhaust (WAY OVERSTATING THAT more like rigging a get by exhaust) and moving a few wires. I don't see why you couldn't go the other way, but I've been wrong before.

the 350 is in place of a sixer because i did not want to move the crossmember so i am thinking that it should work which could be a good thing on my part and save me alot of time and headache on my part.
