another wheel ?
OK. I was going to run 17" torq thrust 2 wheels on my truck, but I am now thinking of changing to the 18" Foose Nitrous wheels. It says they have a 4.5" backspacing. Will this be ok? The truck will also be running a 4/6 drop kit. It is a 70 chevy short bed and I was going to switch out the rear end to a 71-72 rearend for 5 lug. What would be better changing out the rear end or having the axles re-drilled. Thanks for all your help, Nathan

Re: another wheel ?
I'm not sure about the backspacing but I would just purchase aftermarket axles. I swapped my blazer from 5 to 6 bolt. It was very easy. Easier than trying to find another rear dif. IMHO

Re: another wheel ?
The 4.5" backspacing will work just fine after you change to the later model 5-lug rear. That bs will not work with the current rear, though.

Re: another wheel ?
So I need to swap out the rear end instead of just changing the axles. I guess it is because the 70 rear end is narrower then the 71-72 rear?

Re: another wheel ?
Yes the 63-70 rears are 1.5" narrower than the 71-71 rears.
