Re: Nice truck for sale

That is real nice and I thought, it's priced pretty reasonable too, then Iread the description. It'd be cool to have one of those 1 tons.

Re: Nice truck for sale

Price doesn't look too far out of line to me. He's asking $5,000. Probably buy it for $4,000. Drop a nice motor in for a grand. Back to having a pretty nice looking truck for only $5,000 and one weekends work.

Not too shabby in my book.

Try building it after starting with a $850 Pile of rust. Work for a year cutting it all out. Then paint it. Then new wiring. New glass, buy a flat bed and make it look nice.

I think it's very fair priced and would be a solid truck (from what we can see) for someone for not a lot of money or time spent.

Where else could you spend $5,000 and be able to go to the local car shows with your grandkids? Not to mention put that dude to work a little.

That looks nice. I like flat beds but I want a long wheel base one. If I had a need for one, that would be nice at that price.

Re: Nice truck for sale

That truck seems familiar. If it;s a good solid body and truck is as nice as it appears, I don't think it's an awful price. Would you say that if it was a pickup this nice? It's more like a let-down, because you think that's an outrageously good price, ten find it'll cost ya more. How many trucks with engines have we bought, only to find the engine ain't so good and have to rebuilt or buy another...and you paid for that crap motor. This way you know you can put the motor in there it deserves. It says a lot on the rest of the truck that it had an engine that nice that they didn't want to let go

Yes, but the flip side of that is without an engine you can't test the brakes, driveline, transmission, cooling system.... I'd rather pay top dollar for a vehicle with a junk engine than to find out that I had to dump a bunch of money into heater core, radiator, driveshafts, differential, brakes and on and on. For me if I can't drive it, I have to assume it doesn't work and price accordingly. I would have rather seen this with an engine not included than a no engine at all deal. Now all that said, it looks like a really nice truck. But by selling it the way it is will limit the potential pool of buyers.

I've bought trucks before. I think you misunderstood my point. I don't see much risk assuming all that is good just from the overall look/condition I see. I doubt the seat and paint and all you see would have been done to a truck with clapped-out drivetrain. I will also assume that was probably a very nice motor (possibly crate) that the seller has plans for in the next project. I think this is for sale due to a change in direction, not because it needs work. Just a guy looking to get something back out of a toy to pay for another toy...that has the motor in it.

And, hard to believe how cheap guys say these trucks are, yet, in BC. This isn't the first time I've heard that. But this one isn't in BC. And, this truck is way more than a shell.

Re: Nice truck for sale

Even if it were a SWB in that condition with no engine it'd be over priced in my area so doesn't change. I love the dually's, but that's a $6000 price with the exchange rate now & here in the northwest I can get a fully restored running driving dually for that much lol Shells are cheap no matter dually, C20 or swb C10 up here.

Re: Nice truck for sale

They are cheaper on the West coast, especially Eastern WA & further east where it's dry & everything is mostly rust free. Duallys are hard sells out here also & don't go for much. These trucks in general are worth a ton more back east & down south where prices are jacked up by flippers.

Here's a nice K5 "cheap" take $2g off & you get the US price lol http://vancouver.craigslist.ca/nvn/cto/5016694707.html

http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/5009090827.html - for sale for awhile now...months. Might get sold at $5gs or less if he really wants to sell.

Since the K5 is more desirable than the dually out here the nice dually will continue to sit as all the desirables sell until the dually drops the price to something decent. Lots of running dry duallys out here in the $2-3g range & even those don't sell fast lol

Like always location & timing are everything.

Re: Nice truck for sale

Yeah, it all boils down to your last sentence. I've been buying western trucks since about 25 years ago, mostly for sheet metal condition. It was worth the expense because prices were so good. But now prices are fairly well homogenized coast to coast, thanks to the internet.
