Question 70 grill changeover to 72

My truck is a 1 owner 70 C-10. I'm wanting to change the grill and make the truck into a Cheyenne Super. What changes have to be made? I'd like some opinions on this because I don't want to ruin the truck. Is this a good idea or not? Help me out with some ideas.

Thanks

I agree, the 69/70 looks better, but that's just me. Heck, the GMC looks even better than the chevy one. I'm ditchin the 69 chevy grill on the longhorn and putting the 69 GMC clip on there.
For your proposed swap, it is a simple nut and bolt deal. Just don't forgrt the bumper too...turn signals are in the bumper on the 71/72 nose.

the support behind the middle of the grill is different, found that out the hard way.... and the bumper is different, will have to take the bowtie off the hood, fill two holes from the bowtie, and everythign else is bolt up.. i just changed my 4x4 to the correct 71 grill a couple weeks ago

Question

Do you think it would hurt the value of the truck if I did change it over?

Thanks to all

Thanks to all

That would be up to you... Is the truck "PURE STOCK NOW" ? If it is then I wouldn't change it but Chances are it's not... And it's your truck, you paid the money for it and you do the upkeep. DO WHATEVER makes you happy.. You are the one that has to look at it everyday and be happy with it. What I and others here have done to ours would upset some. BUT WE pay for the gas, license, upkeep and all of the "GOODIES" that we put on them so I don't feel it's anyones concern but mine what I do to MY truck.

GO FOR IT!!! And I agree with you i like the 71-2 grille better then the 70. I have a 70 and was going to change it over also but I went with a BILLET insert instead.

The main thing is have FUN>>>>>

71-72 grills will improve the value
I would go for it. If you don't want to remove the hood bowtie then just don't use the one on the grill for the time being. There was one in a Chuck Norris TV show. It had a bowtie in both places. Looked silly.

Like a couple others..I am prejudice...I think the 69/70's look the best. But It is your truck...Do what you want. If your doing it for value...I dunno which would make it more valuable....But if your doing it for you...The heck with the value. I think many, if not most, of us have much more into our trucks thant what there dollar value is.
Someone told me, that bone stock is the best bet far as value collection...but I never build for that.

I'd be interested in your 69 - 70 inner and outer grille if you decide to change it. I just can't seem to get enough parts

wlee, I'll keep you in mind. I don't know what I'm going to do yet about the grill situation. I'm gonna drive the truck a little before I do anything but I'll keep you in mind.

Thanks

It's your truck, do what you want. I looks like it is in great shape and if you ever decide to sell it and find out that the value is greatly reduced because of the grill, you could change it back or sell the original grill with it.

I do agree on the double bow-tie thing though. I'd fill the holes in the hood and just use the grill emblem.

Awesome project you got there. I have to say though, stick with the 69-70 grille! Put one on my 72 and have always loved the look. Goodluck to ya.

Thumbs up AWESOME

Bouncytruck, that is awesome. You've got it exactly how I'm wanting it. How hard would it be to put a 70 grille in for comparison? That is an awesome picture. You've been a great help. Thanks to all!!
