Went to look at a $500 LWB '72....
Craigslist ad...got a heads up...so, I looked for the ad, found it and called about it. Was told that it had set up for several years, but that they had replaced the points, condensor and coil. They used some fresh gas and bypassed the truck gas tank, stuck a fresh battery in it and said it cranked up. After some smoke, he said it cleared up and ran smooth. Doesn't know about the transmission, tho.
There's some bondo flaking from the lower part of the passenger door, and the right side rocker is rusty, but not the worst I've seen. It has "patina", according to the seller. He said it was his ex-girlfriends' dads and he died, so don't know about a title. It has an Edelbrock 1405 (manual choke) and still has the original air horn and air cleaner, plus headers. It also has a full set of 5-lug rally wheels, caps and rings. The bed is well-endowed with "stuff". The glass all looks good and it has a sliding rear window (aftermarket, of course). The SPID shows it was medium olive with a black interior. Whenever it was redone, it was painted inside and out, with the bed off of the chassis. It has blue on blue panel painting (Seventies??). The blue paint on the inside of the cab, excluded any paint on the SPID....so neat that it seemed that it was the wrong SPID. But, a little more detective work and the olive paint can be found. I'm sure that it has value, but I gotta hear it run before I go any further. Here's a couple of pics. Comments?

Heck I bet you could get 500ish out of the frame if nothing else. If it ran that would just be icing on the cake. Look like a 500 buck swb to me. I paid that for my 67 swb with no motor.....

Make sure the title is straight and go back and get it! If nothing else it has 5 lug discs and rear, a v8 and plenty other parts! I'm not a big fan of parting one out but its better that crushin it and sending the scrap to China to build whatever or to Japan to build Hondas. If its good enough get it back on the road!

Actually, he told me that it would have been scrapped if he hadn't gotten it. So, kudos to him. He's into VW's, but used to have a SWB C10. The bull bar on the front bumper saved the grille when the trailer got pushed up against it.

I would buy it even without the title thats a easy fix here in Okie land if a vehicle is more than 20 years old no record of theft you pay a fee and dmv will make you a new one with a bill of sale of course heck for 5 bills you can make some money from it even if you dont use anything

With the exception of the rally wheels/rings/caps, that truck doesn't really have anything that I need. Need is the operative word. Do I want it? Well, maybe.
But, if any of you guys want it for yourself, send me a PM and I'll turn you on to his phone number and the two of you can deal with it.
