Three Speed to TH-350
I'm converting my 1971 Chevy LWB from three speed column shift to a TH-350 automatic. I have everything to do the swap, but I'm tring to find out if I will have to change out the three speed tranny yoke for the TH-350 tranny yoke?
Thanks, Steven

I believe you do need an auto cross member

the slipyolk should be the same (3 spd saginaw to 350T). if you are using the 6" tail 350T, the shaft will also be the proper lenght. Yes, as already mentioned, you will need an auto trans crossmember.....& will probably need to cut the old bell mount crossmember out. its not too bad a swap, best of luck.....crazyL

I have the short tail th350 (I believe), auto cross member, auto column, all the linkage for the column, and flex plate. Still need to get the starter, radiator, and hard tranny lines.
So if I'm tracking you guys, the short tail I have will need a little bit longer drive shaft?

As 69 longhorn mentioned the drive shaft will be the right length to use as is
as long as you have the short tail 350. Jim Last edited by JimKshortstep4x4; 04-12-2005 at 08:27 AM. |
