cast iron intake question

I have a quadrjet factory intake, will this work with an eldebrock Carb or would it be better just to get an eldebrock intake? I have a quadrajet Carb too but I have heard they are hard to rebuild, and the eldebrock has to be rebuilt too.

Re: cast iron intake question

In order to use a square bore Edelbrock carb on that intake you will need an adapter. They stock them at most auto parts stores.

Re: cast iron intake question

EDelbrock won't bolt on to that. You need an adaptor.
Get a new aluminum intake.
Or learn how to rebuild the quad.
Lots of info to help you if you need it.
Just ask!

Re: cast iron intake question

The Q-jet is just as easy to rebuild as the Edelbrock. I would still get an aluminum manifold though. The Performer manifolds are getting plentiful on the used market.
