New Member w/ 1970 C10 swb
Hey Everybody! New member here, glad I found this wonderful site, there is a ton of information on here and I can't wait to start my new project!
Just purchased this 1970 Chevy C10 SWB. All original, paint, 307 motor/trans, interior. Solid rust free, well maintained, original truck. Just bought her from an older couple from South Carolina. Truck will be shipped to my home in San Diego, CA in a week or so... "Old Olive" Seat covers, but under is the original seats A little damage on the tail gate, but nothing too bad... Plans are to keep original patina, just clear it. Porterbuilt extreme front/rears, full disc brakes, LS1 or LS3 swap, etc etc... |

I almost purchased a 72 GMC from the ads on this site, but the truck turned out to be misleading, so I backed out of the deal. I then was referred to this truck by another friend, it was listed on Craigslist in Texas. The truck ended up being in Daytona, Florida after the owner retired there from SC. Contacted the owner, got the whole story on the truck and made the deal. Truck was ordered by an older gentleman, in his mid 60s. He drove it around on his farm for 25 years or so, then passed it to his son when he died. The truck was always serviced at the Chevy dealership in the small town and he was very meticulous. The son then sold the truck to the mechanic who worked on the truck all the years at the dealership, who then sold it to the current owner. I will be enjoying the truck for the summer, ordering parts for the resto that will start in the winter (like we really have a winter in San Diego, but I digress... ) I will be ordering front and rear Porterbuilt kits, Disk brake kit for all 4 corners, and likely a LS motor. Either big lip billet (thinking maybe 24x15 intros on the rear) or might just do Delmo smoothies or something similar. All Accuair controls, valves (VU4), ELevel...The exterior will remain original, might just clear over the existing paint, or let it patina some more since the original paint is still pretty decent. Interior will remain mostly stock, but will add Vintage Air, a hidden stereo, aftermarket gauges are likely as well.

Re: New Member w/ 1970 C10 swb
Speaking with the owner, he told me that truck has the 307 engine with a 3 speed automatic transmission and that it was special ordered with this transmission. Is this an uncommon combination or was the owner misinformed?
