Brake Line ideas
What have some of you used for complete brake line replacements?
Stainless? Braided? and where would be the best place to buy them? I need everything from front to back, and also fuel lines. Any suggestions? |

Run steel brake lines along the frame and when you need to go the axle use the stainless steel kits found on line (www.jackit.com for example). You want to run as little flexible line as possible ( the braided steel is considered flexible) because too much of it and a soft brake pedal will be the result. For fuel i've always wanted to run aluminum lines for heat disipation but it costs like twice as much, you can get it through summit in various colors I believe and sizes as well. Stock is 3/8's.

WOW, there's a diamond in the rough, nice work!! I bought my steel lines from NAPA, not to hard of a project. I don't know if I would tackle SS, pretty hard to flare and bend, but you can buy prebent lines from different companies...

As J Said I Helped A Buddy Redo A Ford F350 With Dana 60's And We Spent All Kinds Of Time Running That Flex Stainless Braid It Looked Real Trick
But There Was A Soft Pedal When All Said And Done I Would Do Prebent Stainless If It Were Me It Looks Like You Are Going The Extra Mile On The Rest Of The Undercarriage |

Classic tube and some of the others are good resources but, I like to make my own. It is not that hard and a lot more cost effective and I think you get a better job. JMO Good Luck

I need to replace mine too, but if you need a brake system; go to: http://www.hydratechbraking.com/ I just had one of these installed with a PSC hydraulic assist unit and switched to cross-over high steer in the process and she drove like a dream. I have other issues now, but those brakes stopped it on a dime and the steering doesn't have play any more, but I still get some feedback from the road - but not as bad as before. I am sure you already have something in mind, but I figured I'd share my success with hydratech and psc. I should mention that I do feel a slight difference in the brake pedal with engine rpm, but the system works great.
