Question about bed sides

I need a new drivers side bed panel and I went to order one from LMC and they dont have them for the drivers side any more for 81-87 pick ups, but they do for 73-80. My question is what is the difference between them? I've always heard they were interchangeable anyways. Thanks.

78+ are the same, with a gas door if it has a tank on that side. 73-77s had a gas cap mounted directly to the bedside. if you dont have a tank on that side, any 73+ bedside will work.

I bought two from the dealer. My cost $375.What does LMC want to ship that?Is it OEM or Taiwan?I don`t think the GM price would be quite $450.Also,as far as I know it was`79 when filler doors went on these trucks. At least all the`78s I`ve seen didn`t have filler doors. What it is w/GM,you can`t get the optional drivers side w/filler door, just plain. All passenger sides have filler doors. The LMC,I don`t know. You better ask. They don`t have the years brokedown to make sense. If it`s plain,it should be for`73-87.If it`s the filler hole(no door),then it should be`73-78.
