Never mind those who can't read between the lines....try 'flip front' on google, you're bound to find one somewhere.

Sure would make workin on the motor easier.

Spoken like a person that has never owned a Vette! I found reaching across the fenders to do everything a WHOLE lot more cumbersome than standing in front. A truck would be even worse! Give me a frontward hood any day.

Re: Show pics of backward hood on 67-72

Nope...never owned a Vette and not likely to anytime soon....wayy to hard to get in and out of for me!

I was thinking entire flip front though...easier to reach over than a full fendered vehicle.

Oh OK, yeah, a tilting full clip would be nice. Just the hood, is a PITA!

Re: Show pics of backward hood on 67-72

I think you're supposed to find an '87-up style Buick LeSabre/Park Avenue in the junqueyard and pirate the hinges and latches from it. From there, you're on your own.....unless you find the posts on here that tell you how to do it.

Buick hinges is how you use to have to do, but in todays market they do make kits for suicide hoods

Here is one on my 56. And I do agree that it can be a pain to work on the radiator or anything on the front of the motor but does look cool.

Re: Show pics of backward hood on 67-72

flip fronts are cool. and make everything extremly easy. but they arent very streetable. the problem is that you end up not having inner fenders, which is great if the truck sees the road once a week, when its clear blue skies.

most of us on the board here are driving our trucks as much a money allows us too lol, which often means rain, mud, snow you name it.

but oh fenderwell headers look sooo cool.

Re: Show pics of backward hood on 67-72

I have never seen one of the rear opening hoods before....I can safely say I hate it with a passion....almost as much as the big wheel skinny tire syndrome. Just doesn't look right....I do like the flip front clip though. That said I wouldn't have either one.
