Windshield wiper wiring

I have a 70 chevy wiring issue. The wiper motor does not match the diagrams or pistures I have seen. I have a single black wire, then a light blue and dk blue wire that all go back to the switch. The issue is the yellow wires go to the dk blue and light blue and not the black. Of course, I have a yellow wire that goes to the fuse block. When I turn on the truck the wipers move a little but they do not work. If I move the wipers to the windshield and turn the motor on the wipers go to the rest position and then still do not work. I try to test by grounding each of the blue and the light blue and still nothing happens.

Is it the motor? Or is it the wiring?

I have mixed and matched some parts from the 70 Chevy and a 69 GMC butI thought they were all supposed to be the same. The wiring harness and the motor I know go together.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Windshield wiper wiring

From your description, it sounds like the motor is bad. If you have power on the yellow wire and you ground the two speed connections then the motor should run. (This assumes that the motor ground ids ok).
