power steering pump

i got an old steering box and pump off of 72 thats been in the yard for a few years, getting rained on. would both still be good to use? pump is pretty rusty and the pulley has some play front to back. any way to check one. also when i do the install what is the process to get air out of the lines? or is that not an issue.

If either unit got water in it then it is probably junk. If they are ok and you install them on the truck, the way to bleed the air is to jack up the front end and turn the wheel lock to lock. (Turning the wheel with the tires on the ground will rub flat spots on them).

I would just use them to trade in on new. You might be asking for trouble with those that have been setting so long in junk yard and loose. IMO

I have a very good pump and can trade. I need a good AM Radio with knobs and factory style speaker setup. also looking for a nice rim to use as a spare 15" 5 lug that accepts dog dish style hubcap. Also looking for the A/C "S" duct and Diverter box
