Guy saying that GM made small back windows in 68. Anyone know if that is true?

Re: Ebay ad

Far as i know, NO small window 68 trucks unless it was C-40 or bigger. Not sure where he pulled his figures from. From what i see it looks to be a 67 truck. If i was serious on that one i would be checking all the VINs if titled as 68.
It is a nice looking truck.

Re: Ebay ad

I am not 100% sure but I think there were some early production 1968 C/10's with the small back glass.

There were some 67s that came with the big back window, but no small window 68s that i have ever seen.

It also looks like it has the 67 only ignition switch.

Re: Ebay ad

I had a '68 cab with a small back window. The VIN tag looked original and also had '67 ignition. I should have taken more photos before I scrapped it because I knew this would come around. It was a 3/4 ton 6cyl truck so I doubt anyone would go thru the effort to weld in those features so well, or swap cabs of same color and do the VIN tag perfectly. ..but you never know.

Re: Ebay ad

It has no side markers, probably a 67.

Re: Ebay ad

theres a guy that lives about 5 minutes from me has a 68 with small back window....no idea if its an original truck or not but its definitely not restored or fixed up like some one would have swapped a cab onto it.

Re: Ebay ad

There were some '68s that were '67 leftovers. It's a late-67 sold and titled in '68

Wouldn't it still have a 67 VIN?

Re: Ebay ad

I could be mistaken, but I seem to remember hearing that there were some states that titled year sold, not year manufactured.

Re: Ebay ad

SpecialK is right. GM produced about 1000 leftovers after October 67, that are titled as a 68. This truck has everything 67, even down to the dash bezel. (with exception of the steering wheel), it has to fall into this leftover class. I would be interested in seeing the chassis to see how much has been upgraded.

Re: Ebay ad

So is the entire truck a 67 titled as 68? Or did they use 68 frame with 67 cabs and put the 68 frame number on the 67 cab as a 68 I.D. plate..

Re: Ebay ad

I would just consider this truck a '67. It may have some mixed parts,it may be 100% '67,it may be just an incorrect title,or incorrect seller.
