Lock-tite or no...
Working on installing my new clutch fan. Looked and found the threaded studs for the water pump flange that seem the best fit. They thread just slightly through the holes leaving a few of the fine threads that will be covered by the pulley. Question I have is whether to screw them in with thread locker or not.
In the one pic the coarse threads look buggered up , but they actually just have a little grease residue on them that needs wiped off. Thank you! Ned

Re: Lock-tite or no...
Yes.
You could Loctite the studs in the pump before installing the fan. This will prevent the studs from rubbing the water pump casting. .

Re: Lock-tite or no...
Blue Loctite would be the best in this application.

Re: Lock-tite or no...
Ned you have the wrong studs for the clutch fan. You need Dorman products 675-001. I bought mine from Auto Zone, gave them the number and they ordered them for me. The fine thread portion of the stud is shorter and won't run into the water pump. Auto Zone sent me ten by mistake so if you can wait till I can ship them to you I'll be happy to send you four. PM me your address info and I'll get em in the mail Mon. Phil
