Jack Decal...Who Has Them?

I am looking for the jack decal that is placed in the '67-'68 bucket console box. Some vendor must reproduce these.

Re: Jack Decal...Who Has Them?

The only ones that I have seen were date coded 1969 like the temp. decal on the core support. If you had an original maybe Jeff could make one for you??? I know you are looking for 100 pt restore but this maybe one of those parts you can get away with using the later model but in the correct location. In my experience, most of the people who judge have no clue as to what is correct on these trucks, but that is a whole other tangent.

Re: Jack Decal...Who Has Them?

Maybe a better pic for you. I have seen them mounted inside the buddy box, and on the seat brackets. I don't know what determined where it went. Good luck with your search, Eric

I do not know if this is what you are looking for but 'www.americanclassic.com' has a 67-72 jacking instruction decal,
part #DEC-32 for $1.75.

Re: Jack Decal...Who Has Them?

OK...both my seats are buddy buckets from 1967 but going into 1968 trucks. One has the decal in the buddy box and the other does not have the decal that I can tell. I wonder if the decal was placed a different place in 1968? I will check the restoration guide I guess. I want this to be PERFECT...no point deductions...LOL!

Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!!

Here's a copy. What I was going to do was take a piece of glue backed paper and print it on there. Cut it out and be done....

I've seen that done with UPS shipping labels if you have access to them.

I might have to give that a try. For $1.99 though...I am going to order one to see what they look like. I will use the best one.

Guy58, I have been using (trying to use) the 1967-1972 CHEV/GMC TRUCK FACTORY ASSEMBLY MANUAL. I purchsed this on-line and find it about the worst and most difficult reference guide EVER!!!!!! However...it is about the only thing I have found. I provides locations for all pieces of trim, mounting holes, emblems. It shows how the drip rails are folded and bent in cross-section so you can tell which panel goes where...GREAT MATERIAL...but it is laid out completely in random order without an index or reference which makes it very frustrating to use. What could be worse...THERE ARE NO PAGE NUMBERS...ROFLMAO!!!!!!!! Sometimes I think it is faster to find an original truck and look at where some things are supposed to go. Mine has "post-it" notes all over it.

Sorrry for the rant...great info...you just have to find it. This guide is about 2.5" thick...lots of pages.

Re: Jack Decal...Who Has Them?

It took me 50 minutes to find where the jacking instructions are to be located inside the buddy bucket seat box this morning. There is one additional decal that goes in there...a Warning decal located 5.00 inches from the inside front of the box, below the "Jacking Instructions". Something else shown in the assembly guide is seat belt holders mounted to the front of the buddy bucket box. Very interesting since I have never seen that option on any of the trucks so far. These are not on my '67 buckets. I might have to start another thread on this one.

stllookn,
In one of your replies you mention a restoration guide. I am looking for a good restoration guide for my 1967 C10 project truck. Do you know of a good one I would benifit from?
Thanks,
Guy

Re: Jack Decal...Who Has Them?

All buckets not just the buddy buckets got the jack instructions in the console. The other sticker is only there if the truck was equiped with posi. If open rear no second sticker. The stickers you are looking for are not the same as the ones reproduced. I "believe" the correct jacking instructions for your truck would be closer to 66 down models. All of the ones from suppliers are basically the same- look to pay from $2.50 -$4.00

Re: Jack Decal...Who Has Them?

LMC also sells the style that 70gmcer has shown. I have never seen a source of the early style label with the bowties in the upper corners. I would like to duplicate tht one someday but don't know when I will ever get to it.

OK Houston...now we have a problem! Does anyone have a set of buddy buckets with the correct "Jacking" instructions so I can make sure I get this right? Mine was so badly damaged that I could not detemine what it was originally. As for the Posi-warning...mine did not have one...I will try to look it up on one of the decal sites.

Re: Jack Decal...Who Has Them?

Mine were original with the sticker on the pass side as shown. My 71 cheyenne has the posi warning sticker in the pass cab corner, but not a bucket seat truck. I think i pulled those buddy buckets from a gmc if it makes a difference. I can look at my other set and see if there is still a sticker on them. Now are you confused???
