Original radio WTB WTBG

I am looking for an old, non working, original or original looking radio. I don't know how much someone would charge (if at all) for such a thing, but let me know what you have and what you want. Pictures help. Also, my truck is a GMC, so am I pretty much stuck getting a radio with a bowtie emblem? A GMC logo would be better.

Thanks
-Brian

Re: Original radio WTB WTBG

I found a very nice AM radio on Ebay for $40. It has "GM" on the front...

Re: Original radio WTB WTBG

GMC and Chevrolet AM radios both say GM on the front. What condition? I have about a dozen.

Re: Original radio WTB WTBG

Really the only thing I care about regarding condition is the face. All that matters is that it looks nice... I am taking care of the rest. Even if it doesn't look nice, I can make it as long as there is not something missing or terribly damaged. Send some pictures. They do not have to work.

Sorry, when we moved I piled everything in the shop and haven't found that box yet. But still looking.

Re: Original radio WTB WTBG

Bowtie001,

Since you did not reply, I assumed you had one. I was leaving town on the 12th, so I deleted the post. (I was within 50 miles of where you live, in Arden,NC and I had hoped to have you pick it up as I would have taken it with me).

If you still need the radio, let me know.

Jim

Yeah - I still do, but I'm not in a big hurry. Sorry I've been a little slow to respond... works been crazy and the wife got into an accident ($$$$).

Re: Original radio WTB WTBG

When you find the box, if you find 2, could you PM me as well?

I'm thinking about the mod I've seen here with the replaced volume control, so I just want it to look decent.

I have a GMC too, but it sounds like the radios all look the same

I was hoping to have a few choices for condition and whatnot. Can you give me estimates of both condition and price in comparison?

Re: Original radio WTB WTBG

I believe all of mine have no rust and the faces are pretty clean (minimal, if any scratches or pitting). When I purchased them I think they averaged around $40 each - most from running trucks, but not sure which ones work - haven't tested all of them.

Just did a quick scan of ones sold on eBay and came up with an average of about $35.

Re: Original radio WTB WTBG

OK, I have set Paypal to retrieve $15 from my checking account. Buying another car for the wife as a replacement and waiting for the insurance company took up a lot of time and we did not have a good idea of how much money we were going to be left with. At any rate, sorry for the delay, but it IS coming.

OK, apparently Jim has sold the radio to someone else that he sold to me. I am now looking again for a non working AM radio that looks good for cheap. Snap a pic with your post, please.

Thanks
