What kind of Headers you guys running?

I am wanting to get some headers for my '70 so i can hear her when she runs. She is all stock now & so quiet, doesnt sound like a truck, so just curious as to what you guys are running, and how they sound and what kind of exhaust set up ya'll got!

Thanks!!

Shorties of the same....need a torch, big hammer and a lot of bad language to make them fit. But i have heard the same complaints about everything else out there. I guess its luck of the draw when it comes to fit.

Hedman Street Hedders.

They aren't top of the line but they work great...100% improvement over the stock manifolds thats for sure!

The BEST; Hooker, I have Comp series, my bro has the Pro Competition on his 69. I have used almost all the brands at one time or another, nothing beats Hookers for quality. Brian

I bought the Summit Ceramic coated headers which are re boxed Dynotech's I believe...or maybe it is Dynomax. Seem like a bargin at $199.50.....of course you know you'll need some nice mufflers also to get that agressive sound.

Tree, Check out this thread too....scroll down and you'll see the Chevelle style headers from Summit used on our trucks!

Stan's Headers....tri-Y's. 3" duals with Flowmaster 70 series exit behind rear tires. Sounds great yet quiet enough to hear yourself think and carry on a conversation without yelling. Pics below are manufacturer pics, not mine or my engine. Mine's a mild 454 with about 450hp, 500 lb ft torque. Expensive headers but well built and fit without ANY clearence issues.

Got a set of 1 3/4" Hooker super comp ceramic coated. One of the best looking set of headers you can find.

Headman ceramic coated w/gasket seal, wish I had a ball flange. 3 inch duals, with X-pipe, flowmaster 40's poppin out behind the tires. Sounds mean!

WOW! Thanks for your responses guys! I had Flowmaster 40's on 2 of my trucks & love the tone of them, so will probably stick with that for the exhaust.
I had a guy here buying the doors off the 69 I am parting out, and he had cheap headers on his truck (Flowtech, which I dont like) and a pretty decnt exhaust, and it just sounded like a loud old truck to me..only sounding OK at idle..
Right now my truck is soooooooo quiet..can barely hear her running.. So I want to be able to hear her...but i don't want that old truck sound..
You guys have been very helpful! I always liked Hooker Super Comps & had a few street rods with them, but wasn't sure I would want to go back with them...on a truck ya know?
So I appreciate you guys taking the time to let me know what you got & what sounds sweet!
