Drop spindle Question?????

I have a 72 short frame. What I would like to find out is. How can I tell if they used dropped spindles or if they cut the springs. or both. is there a way I can measure from point A to point B to determine if they are stock or dropped????

Re: Drop spindle Question?????

Stock spindle has the rotor spindle somewhat in the middle of the spindle, and a dropped spindle will have the rotor spindle somewhat near the top of the spindle assembly... hmmm, that sounds confusing

Re: Drop spindle Question?????

Most of the drop spindles I've seen in catalogues, etc, seem to be a 2 1/2" drop.

Every dropped spindle for C10s are 2.5 inches.

Dropped spindle on left. Stock height spindle on right. Notice difference in spindle pin position is higher in casting on dropped spindle, raising the wheel higher into inside fender.
