'72 GMC 3 spd/4x4 Rare?

My family has had this old truck for many years now. It is all original except the six cyl. was replaced with a 350. The tranny combo is a 3spd on the column with a NP 205. I haven't seen too many other 3spd's in a 4x4 application. Anyone know of others out there? Just curious. It sure is a fun truck to drive around...people initally think it is an automatic until they see me shifting the lever around then they ask what the heck is going on.
Also, I don't get a chance to get on the computer much so I come and go from this board, but I am looking for a shift knob for a transfer case (NP205) with the shift pattern on it for this truck. Also have a tailgate band for a Cheyenne-woodgrain with CHEVROLET on it-good condition. I will try attaching some photos if they aren't too big, if anyone is interested.

Talking

My 71 plow truck had a 3 speed in it when I first got it. I changed it out to an automatic as it is not much fun shifting and working the plow controls at the same time. Also, plowing snow is hard on clutches!

even rarer

How about this. I have a 73' with a 3spd on the column. And it is also a 4x4 (1/2 ton). Not much left after plowing snow for 25+ years. Originally a county truck.

My 72K10 was a 307 with a 3 speed. I believe all 4x4s with 307 had a three speed. I ditched both for the 350 / sm465 combo. If it's less common, it's for a reason. 3 speeds just aren't too popular for a pickup, especially on the column.
