Tranny Swap - 71 Cheyenne Super

I found a great deal on a Tremec WC T5 transmission, new, but ordered for a 93 S10.... My first question is, will the bell housing from my 1971 Cheyenne Super 2wd (3 on the tree) 350 V8, bolt to the T5??? If not, then what model chevy, camero, or firebird do I need to look for to find the right bell housing to mate the two? Anyone got any experience in making a swap like this??? I am anticipating a new clutch and pressure plate, shortening the drive shaft, and perhaps fabricating a new cross member. Any other issues I should be prepared for???
