Nice Truck

I saw this truck today while riding my bicycle. He bought it new in 1965. It is a custom cab with a 3 speed overdrive.

Nice! Where did you see it? I've never seen him in town (SF). I used to live here for years, and would have remembered that truck!

Re: Nice Truck

This was right around 35th and Clement. I almost rode down the Embaradero but decided to go to the beach instead. Let me know if you are going to be in town next week. I think I am going to do some work on the truck.

Lately, my schedule has been like this: Get up at 4:00-4:30 AM, leave the house by 5:15 AM, drive to Dublin to catch BART, get to work by 7:30, work until 6:00 PM, take BART to Dublin, drive back home, get home around 7:45-8:30 PM (depending if I have to go buy something at the store), cook dinner for my family (wife is 7 months pregnant and having a hard time physically), spend time with the kids and my wife before they go to bed, clean up the kitchen, then work on arranging music for my church for about an hour, then try to get any amount of time in after that to work on the truck, usually get to bed around 11:30 PM -12:00 AM. Then do it all over again the next day.

On weekends, I am fighting to get as much time on the truck while trying to take care of the family (which I haven't been too successful at, since something always pulls me away from the truck).

What are you planning on doing to your truck?

Re: Nice Truck

Dont worry about it. I just thought if you were in town you could just stop by and chew some fat. No working on the truck. I just have to run a fuel line and hook up the shift bar to the tranny. After that button up a few wires and then fire it up and run it for a bit. Maybe I can drive it soon.
Your a busy guy right now. Maybe I will catch you at a meet sometime. Just have to set one up.

Yeah, after I get my project done and sold, I can start thinking about coming to the City for enjoyment again. In fact, after I get the truck done and the baby is born, I will start being in SF for a little bit of OT on the weekends (on Saturdays), so I could always borrow a company vehicle and come see your project and see what I could possibly help out with. I'm sure that once my project is gone, I am going to be missing it terribly, and since yours is almost the same color, it will be therapeutic to help you out... lol. You haven't fired up the new motor? Wow, I bet you can't wait to get it on the road!

After all that work, I would be dying to go for a drive!!! I feel for you. I can't wait to drive mine, and I have had mine for less than a year and only drove it once, with a motor that was about to konk out. Top speed on the freeway was 60, and I didn't dare go faster than that, since my boys were riding with me and there are no seat belts in it. I will drive this thing as much as I can before I sell it. I told my wife that I am going to have to drive it to a lot of places, just to get the exposure for people to see it is for sale. I said, "I don't care how hot it is, I am driving it!" By the time I get done, it should be well into the upper 90's to 100's, with no fan or air, except the open vents and vent windows.

Nice truck for sure, & very cool that he's the original owner. I assume you're the one that posted it on Facebook as well. I "liked" the pic there too.
