Header and Plug Wire question
Alright, so I am going to put a set of painted Hooker Comp headers on the 72. The plug wires I have on the truck right now seem to be WAY too long, and they just hang everywhere. They have a straight boot on them and they don't run clean along the valve covers. I guess one possibility is that these wires are meant to run up under the motor mounts.
So I guess the questions are: 1. If I buy new plug wires, will 90* boots work with the headers? 2.Do I have to buy a set that are made for this truck, or are 350 plug wires universal? (The truck does have an HEI distributor, so there's only like 2 sets that say they are made for the truck with an HEI) and 3. What are you guys running, or what do you recommend? Thanks for more help, Justin |

Re: Header and Plug Wire question
Some headers work better with 90's some with staight. I would find a 90 from a friend or a junk yard and see how it fits. You can get plug wires you make yourself and run them however you want.

Re: Header and Plug Wire question
I have been able to put a 90* boot plug on every set of headers I have ever had on the trucks I have had. You do have to be careful and some strange configurations are necessary to clear certain header designs, but it should work just fine. You can shorten those wires too.
