Re: Square Headlights in our trucks??

that was the hot ticket back in the days.

someone correct if I'm wrong, but I believe you would modify the GM van headlights to fit.

and even though a bit dated, that truck doesn't look that bad!

I think you are correct about using the van headlights. I've seen a few done with them over the years. They are not bad (in the 71/72 grill), I just prefer the round lights in our years.

Re: Square Headlights in our trucks??

I had the bell bottoms, but I skipped disco...moved to Japan for 10 years. I guess I must have missed something (NOT)

Re: Square Headlights in our trucks??

Well I'll stick to the round lights as well, but always great to see what people can come up with.

Rollin' one T3!

Re: Square Headlights in our trucks??

When DOT gave the ok to use rectangular headlights, I think back in '76. All automakers jumped at the chance to give the customers something different from the normal round headlights. I think the first automaker to sell use them in the USA, was Cadillac. Outside the USA, rectangular and other shape headlights had been the norm.

Same thing happened in '58, when four headlights were given the ok. Just about every car/truck was converted to four headlight grills. Hot Rod mag even had custom photos of builder putting eight headlights on their rides.

Now a daize, hell I can't keep up with all of the changes. I know I would love to install some HID headlights in all my vehicles. Either my peepers are gettin weak at night or its just darker at night
