Restoration help or helpers please
My dad is trying to finish up a sentimental project. It is a sweet 67 short stepper. He is having a difficult time working on it for several reasons, but needs help with the finishing. The drivetrain is pretty much complete, but the disc conversion and paint needs to be done.
Does anyone know of a good reputable paint and body man in Michigan? What about someone to install the disc brake conversion kit? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Any questions please let me know. Thanks |

any good shop with a alignment rack should be able to help out with the disk brake conversion. don't take it to maaco for the paint

Thanks for the reply.
I was hoping someone might know of a good custom paint guy that either works from home or does special projects after hours or something like that. |

Re: Restoration help or helpers please
Do a Google search for Michigan area body shop, go to their shop and look at their work, talk to some customers, if you like what you see, tell him what you need. Usually "custom" shops are very good at painting, but make sure they ARE reputable like you said. You should be able to get a good paint job with this info, Just be prepared to pay $$$$.

There is a shop in the Muskegon area that does good work. If interested I will give you the contact information.

Re: Restoration help or helpers please
Too bad a member can`t slip over and help him out.Maaco`s just a name.It depends on who runs it and who they have working there. They don`t do crappy work because it`s cheaper. There`s a Maaco that I know of that consistantly puts out fine work.I just saw a job they did and knew they were good a few years ago. It`s about 1 1/2 hours from me.That`s where I`d go,and I know other painters.
