Pick N Pull Alert !! SF Bay Area 60 GMC Apache 2 64-66 C10s
Just came back from the pick n pull on Mowry in Newark Ca, There is a 1960 Apache with a good hood hood has 2 small dents easy to get to and no rot in the usual places, RH door is good, windshield is on the roof and has two stone chips was a newer glass at one point PPG if I recall, engine is the 305 V6 4 speed has high hump trans tunnel and was complete as of yesterday , deluxe heater option, has the rare chrome trim around the wing vents and the glass, someone took the sail panels and the rear cab trim ,there is a 64-66 step[ side GMC with the v6 as well, motor looks like it was worked on, then a 64-66 long bed fleet side with no eng trans but has a near perfect tailgate, dash was complete, has the larger gas tank with a hole from them bastards that work there...right next to the drain plug too !! doors are intact and one was decent , I can't remember which one
Hurry and get there these things go fast !! |

Slow but steady, it really takes alot of time to fix everything that was wrong after all the years, I updated my build with a few pics, almost done with the bodywork, all the rust is fixed, I just want to get this thing back on the road, I like to drive it and would like to drive it daily again soon..u know how it is

Re: Pick N Pull Alert !! SF Bay Area 60 GMC Apache 2 64-66 C10s
Sounds like a rare opportunity, I wish I was closer. I’m curious, where is the Pick N Pull on Mowry. I lived in the bay area years ago and spent years in the yards out there. For that matter I worked at Peterbilt for several years when it was right on the corner of Cherry Street back in the 70’s.
As you went beyond Cherry Street and crossed over the tracks, the first on the left was Able Auto Wreckers I believe, the one in the middle had a guy’s name I don’t remember, and the last one was Ace Auto at one point. The owners of Ace sold it and bought Able, which was much bigger. It was run by a woman name Lou (I assume for Louise) and she almost always gave me great pricing. The yard in the middle was much higher on pricing, so didn’t spend a lot of time in his yard, but had a lot of fun finding bargains in those yards back in the 70’s and 80’s. Did the old three become one big yard, or are there still three, or is it completely different now? |
