dimensions and some other stuff

Can anbody give me body dimensions? total length of a 65 longbed(not wheelbase), total width, and approx (since this will change) ground clearance and total height at a somewhat stock ride height? I need this for my engineering sciences assignment,\ and im at school an hour away from my truck (im a sophomore in college)

The assignment is

Choose some object in or around your home or on campus, and describe in detail: what the object is, what design needs it responds to, the manufacturer of all or part of it (with a link to the website or address of the company), how old it is, its dimensions and key design features. Describe how it was manufactured (as best you can); include pictures (photos) from multiple angles, and a drawing or sketch labeled with dimensions.

So i decided what better object to pick than my truck? I already know/have done most of the research that i need and gonna write about, and itd be interesting for me to write. im planning on writing about key components of the truck design, new features to this era, distinguish components, and year changes, how it meets needs of truck buyers, what options/components my truck has, ect., what the assignment says... it doesnt need to be that long although i could probably drag this paper out forever... im open to any suggestions, but i really just need the dimensions i stated earlier cuz i cant find them online

Re: dimensions and some other stuff

Here's the only thread I can find with overall length dimensions, and I don't have access to a Truck Sales Data Book:

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ghlight=length

Per post #2 the short wide bed is 186-3/4". I believe the long bed is 20" longer, 12" between the cab and axle, and another 8" behind the tire. Perhaps this will be enough for your project.

I would hand in the web address as well, just think how much more money was spent on fuel, repairs, upgrades for these trucks or yours for that matter all these years since they left the dealers lot. Family`s have survived because of these truck`s. Family`s were created because of them too.....I digress!

So, are you going to make something for your truck for your senior design project?
