Re: Anyone running eagle alloy 058s ?
Welp. My Eagle Alloy 16x10, 8 lug 6 1/2" bolt pattern arrived today
Inspected them and the polishing and machine work looks good. No rough cast inclusions. They look good These are 4 1/2" back space. My old 16.5x9.75 are 4 7/8" back spacing So 3/8" wider outside my wheel wells which probably wont even be noticable Now to get some bulge lug nuts and valve stems I wanted to use some real short chrome lug nuts , but looks like Ill have to use at least 2" long, 7/8" shocket I see they have a new small diameter spline drive socket lugs but I dont need those .

I'm doing the same thing. My 33/12.50-16.5 BFGs on 9.75 wheels are 12 years old and weatherchecked. Just picked up a set of 16x7" Ford steelies yesterday and after refinishing, they will get 255/85-16s, probably Cooper S/T. Going back to more of a tall 'n' skinny look. Those new Eagles look great! If I were going with alloys, they would be at the top of my short list. Nice!

Re: Anyone running eagle alloy 058s ?
Nice looking truck! These new wheels are one of the only decent looking alloy wheels made for 8-lug trucks today. I'm holding out to be the last guy with 16.5s. I just put a set of 9.75 aluminum slots with 35/12.50 BFG A/Ts on and lifted 4" on my '72. I got them for $40. They were black from brake dust and I got them back to aluminum color. One kept going down, so I had it fixed. They charged $34! They did a balance when I didn't ask for it (it was $20 before this). Then it went down again. Took it back, also because they put steel wheel weights on the outside and didn't give the screw-in valves I requested. It leaked again, so I took it back and they said the rim must have corrosion. "Ok, didn't you see that the two times before?". So they supposedly polished t off, charged me another $34 and it looked low in three days. I gave up on them and went 20 miles up the road to a real tire shop. They polished it since the first theives didn't, but discovered a hairline crack between two slots. I took it to an alloy wheel repair shop and paid $125 to have wheel repaired. Took it to be mounted, they tested, and still a pinhole leak. Went back with the wheel AND tire and the wheels guys got me fixed up right. The second tire store never even charged me. So, the saga of the old obsolete 16.5 tires and wheels I bought off the side of the road ends me up with a set of 1/2 worn rubber and dulled out slots for $233, some elbow grease, and about 100 miles of travel. I already had a set of 37/12.50 x 16.5 Super Swampers mounted on powder coated 8.25 steelies for it to alternate, but decided to sell those off because the next set would cost so much. I also sold the bigger lift I had for it. After there 16.5s are done I'll get a set of 16 x 8 steelies with 285/75s, if not sooner.

It's only 30 years. Marinating is good, but they say too long is bad...for seafood and vehicles

Re: Anyone running eagle alloy 058s ?
Lug nuts. chrome
If any one is fussy like me about nice lug nuts, I did some extensive research and actually looked at several brands, though they are all made in china or taiwan anyway CWA Custom Wheel Accessories has the best ones for a 8 lug aluminum wheel. bottom of the page, middle one, 13/16 hex- 9/16 stud, 1.75 length, nice big bulge acorn 60 degree seat. I wanted shorter not long nuts. Nice finish also http://customwheelaccessories.com/in...rn/closed.html Gorilla are ok, White Knight look like junk. My other truck has Gorilla 7/8" hex duplex that are 2.4" tall, on Eagle allloys also. I might get some of these shorter nicer looking CWA nuts for it also. Oh and I can get them at a good price too.

Re: Anyone running eagle alloy 058s ?
I had those wheels on my bronco for a while. They looked good when they were polished and clean but it was a major pain keeping them that way. If I were you I'd put a clear coat or cleat powder coat on those bad boys to cut down on the maintenance.

Re: Anyone running eagle alloy 058s ?
No thanks. You just have to wash them, just like anything else

Re: Anyone running eagle alloy 058s ?
I don't disagree. It isn't the washing. Over time bare aluminumber oxidizes. It is the semi annual polishing that takes a little more elbow grease.
If you've ever run Alcoa with the durable clear coating you get spoiled by the easy cleanup. Or at least I did. Regardless the 058 are a good looking wheel!
