gas cap not venting

Non eec tank not sure what year it is, Ive tried multiple vented caps and I always have a big swooshing sound when I open them, which tells me they are not venting. The ones I have are for 71 would there be a difference in vented caps for different years, this is driving me nuts, all the vented caps I have tried fit, but they don't vent

You stated you have a cap for a 71 I believe most of them were vented to a charcoal canister may try older cap like a 69.

Non vented are for eec because of the canister, it is a closed systm. Vented caps are for non eec regardles of year. I just can't figure out why all these vented caps aren't venting
