I got some 16x8 American Racing Outlaw II wheels on mine. They are easy maintenance and look pretty good.

I have 16x7 Alcoas on my truck with 265 75 16 Michelins. The 265 is an excellent size tire. Keeps speedo accurate in my case, fills the wheel well nicely and has a good width for the 7" rim.

Yesterday I picked up a set of 97 Ford 8 lug 16" take off's. 1 can of Krylon white and they now are 72 Chevy wheels that fit the small 72 factory alum hubcap. Looks stock and fits the 235-85R-16.
The only problem is the tire stores think these rims are GOLD as everyone with older trucks want them so they can toss the 16.5 . The pisser is that they get the wheels for free from the guy that buys custon wheels and leaves them behind. The tire shop I bought from was "Les Schwab" I might add that they were the only set in Grants Pass Oregon. The wrecking yards didnt even have them. They first wanted $60 a wheel! After reminding them that Ive spent $2000 on my Corvette brakes and front end, they finally backed down to $25 each (for a wheel they never paid for) |

Ouch, Dave! I got my Michelins and Alcoas for $1050 out the door. I paid $750 for the Alcoas with (32) 60 degree seat 9/16 lug nuts and (16) 1/2" lug nuts. That way they all match and when I upgrade my rear studs I'll have the nuts already. The Michelins were "demos". They put them on a truck, and the guy came back the NEXT DAY for more aggressive ATs. They were then sold for $75 each with full manufacturers warranty. The $1050 was mounting, balancing, bolt on valves, and tax.

Edmond - I think the ones in the pics you posted are from a newer 90ish Chevy trucks. You put these in the middle of the wheel and then put the lug nuts on the truck.

Thanks for all the info. It's a great help.
I think I'm going for the same idea if you don't mind. Well not as if we're going see each other on the road since you're in Hawaii and I'm in the Netherlands :p Cya, Edmond

Early Classics has the drop shackles for the 2 1/4" springs. Note that the Longhorns and 4x4 have 2 1/2" springs and can use 73 and up shackles. After doing the disc swap on the front of my truck (the one above with the Alcoas) it had WAY too much rake. The pic above is with the EC shackles on their lowest setting. They come with two sets of holes, both lower than the stock shackles. I am thinking about raising mine up to the other set of holes (~ 3/4") for trailering, but I like the way it looks when it's not loaded set like it is now.
