gas tank question

i have an 86 gmc lwb im in the process of finishing up my ls swap and have decided that im only gonna use the driver side gas tank. i have a friend that has 74 swb. i dropped the passenger side gas tank out of my truck and was wondering if it would fit in his truck or what it would take to make it fit. any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: gas tank question

it will fit in just fine. you will have to adjust the mounts to fit if memory serves correct but there is no difference in the tank itself. Im assuming you both have the same size tanks. if you have the long tank i do not think there is enough room for the long tank in a swb truck however if both are short (16 gal) tanks then you should have no problem

Re: gas tank question

A 20 gallon tank simply won't fit in a swb truck. I know, I tried, It's too long. (or the rear wheel is too far forward )
