Power Steering Pump
I need detailed pics of power steering pumps and the way they mount and the belt. I have the bottom bracket that cradels the water pump I need the top bracket and would like to see how it mount that way I will be sure and order the right one. I is a 350. Is there a set of brackets that will mount the ps pump to the block if so who sells it. I want to eventually put a chrome water pump on the truck do they make one that will fit the ps brackets I have now.

Alf, that bracket you have is typically a car bracket.

Just shooting from the hip I'd say that's not the original engine because the alternator is on the right side and the water pump pulley looks like its a long pump. If you can put your hand between the pump and the timing cover its a long pump. The original should have been a short pump.
My brackets came out of a 71 truck with a 350. They will work with the pump you have. We need to make sure you have holes in the right place to mount it first. About 5 inches below the left side (right side as you look at it) of the water pump should be a bolt hole in the front of the engine block and another 1 1/2 inches below that should be a second bolt hole. If you see only one bolt hole your going to need a 73-87 pump and brackets.

What . you need is a bracket like this or similar. The ear sticking out the back goes on the front exhaust manifold bolt and I think the other goes to the head or block. That is the only other bracket your setup needs. You will need to change over to short pump with alternator on drivers side to use the other style brackets. As far as I know they will not mix and match. John

Is there a bolt on the back of the ps pump to keep tension on the belt?? My ps pump does not have that. My crank pulley has 3 grooves. What year ps pump do I need? Tell me how to send you the money and I will figure it out from there.
Thanks

Here's where the bolt goes to put tension on the pump.
I've PM'ed the info on where to send the money. You'll be in good shape.

Re: Power Steering Pump
Does anyone know the year of the ps pump indicated in the photo? Oreilly/Advance/Napa shows one with the tube almost in the center of the rear of the pump which doesn't work with my brackets.
