2nd 60-66 vin location

I was wondering if there is a 2nd location on these trucks for the VIN number other than the door plate? I know Ford at times put a 2nd VIN number on the side of the firewall behind the fender and GM stamped it at times on the frame. Everything checks out on my truck fine and the state titled in in my name on the spot without any questions when i bought it.

Yet it seems like weekly I read a story of somebody who got their 69 Mustang that was stolen '70 or '72 Triumph motorcycle stolen in '74 being recovered by the fed's and returned to them. I keep thinking with my luck I'm going to drop thousands in to the '65 one day I'm going to get pulled over and bam my truck comes back stolen in 1981 and I have to give it back with all my time and labor in it.

I just want to be sure......

Well does the vin match the plate on the door plate? They are also stamped on the frame.

Re: 2nd 60-66 vin location

This thread shows the 2nd VIN location on the frame of Chevy trucks. GMC's don't have a VIN stamped on the frame:
