Hello everyone,I wanted to introduce myself. My names is Tony and I've been reading and watching other guys truck builds for some time now. Seeing others truck builds has really inspired/motivated me. Ive always loved modifying my vehicles and spent alot of time working on one of my buddies old c10 years ago. The truck I'm building is something I would like to hold onto long term. My son jack (2.5 years old) has been out helping me and also loves a good project. My goal is to have a nice well rounded truck that I can drive on the street and take to the strip every now and then. Im trying to keep up the momentum on this build as I would like to see it come together by the summer time. I purchases my truck in Washington and after a lengthy amount of paper work brought it an hour north to it's new home in
mission, bc, Canada. I got the truck at the end of September 2016.

For me to register it in my name the truck had to be inspected. It had a 327 motor in it but the previous owner had taken it some what apart. For it to pass inspection It needed to run and drive. Myself, buddy and my cousin worked on it for three evenings. It wanted to run but we couldn't get it to to idle properly. We were very confused. It was getting gas and spark and had compression. We were playing with the distributor adjustment and timing gun,just couldn't get it right. Well we thought maybe the cam was worn out. I located a good cam and upon installing it found that the previous owner reassembled the cam and crank alignment wrong. The cam timing was off.

We replaced the cam and lifters just because and corrected the cam timing and put it back together. Vroom. Fired right up. Alot of work to make something run That your just gonna take apart again, but gotta do what ya gotta do.

I sourced a early model sbc 350 motor and sent it to be cleaned and magna fluxed. Unfortunately it was found to have some cracks in it near a coolant passage. Luckily the old guy who u bought it from (an ex hot rod shop owner) was nice enuf to help me locate a replacement from a buddy of his. Along with the new block the buddy of his had some vortec aluminum heads and edelbrock intake Mani for sale. I had this block cleaned and magna fluxed and it was good. Sent it out to the machine shop and bored it 30 over and all new internals.. Here's a pic of the finished block after I prepped and painted it.
