Have you guys seen these trucks??

I just found these trucks. They are awesome! I can only imagine the number of hours they have in each one. What do you guys think about them? http://www.classictrucks.com/feature.../photo_01.html

I would venture a guess and say they arent complete. At least I hope not. Id rather see paint on them. In a couple of the pics you can see they still have ungrinded beads. They probably just brought them out for the photoshoot.

Re: Have you guys seen these trucks??

I think completed pics of those trucks are circulating around here somewhere. It seems like one was painted yellow? I really don't remember, they may have been in a newer issue of Classic trucks.

Re: Have you guys seen these trucks??

If you go to Roadsters.com, you will see a bare metal rod doing the car shows. They use Gibbs as the paint , protectant, sealant, corrosion inhibitor and it is the best for this. Later, if you decide, you can paint right over it!!!! They have used it on the body panels for the military Humvees while sheetmetal panels are waiting for assembly, then they paint right over it. The best corrosion inhibitor there is.
Contact me if you are interested in Gibbs Lubricant.

I agree. It's nice to see that someone can put so much time, effort, and work into something, even if it isn't something I particularly like a lot. Like those, those aren't quite my taste, nor are a lot of lowriders in our trucks, or rocker-rippin lowriders, but I do like to see the effort people put into our trucks to make them how they like it. I like to try and keep an open mind about classics; it's nice to see them get something done to them (other than rotting away in somebody's field or back yard) and nice to see them get customizzzed to fit the driver's taste, even if it isnt my taste.

If a major auto manufacturer produced anything THAT ugly, most dealers would be too ashamed to display them on their showroom floor - unless under a tarp.

As opposed to the "works of art" that are being produced NOW?

You guys make me smile.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: Have you guys seen these trucks??

If everyone wants a stock truck than go buy a new one, then again I havent seen many stock trucks on this board either. Most are lowered, wheels, tires, paint, aftermarket ignition and exhaust systems. Stock would be all concourse 100 pt. restoration with chalk markings and all with bias ply tires and hubcaps. Haven't seen ANY of those on here unless someone wants to enlighten me. Those trucks were built by custom builders that far exceed alot of peoples qualifications. Give an artist credit where credit is due and leave the stockers for people that know how to build those too. Lets see your stockers.

Re: Have you guys seen these trucks??

I definently agree they have talent in metal shapeing and fabrication but I don't care for the modified body lines. But hey to each his own, if it makes you happy then go and do it I say.

Thats what it is all about. Building your truck to your likings. No matter what people think. I like both. I really dont plan on heavily modifying my suburban, just subtle changes here and there. The most radical mod will be the suspension. Rockers are going to lay on the ground.
