I need stereo system ideas

I need some ideas for my '72 Cheyenne. Ive got a couple ideas, but could use the help. The tank is still behind the seat, so keep that in mind

Re: I need stereo system ideas

someone here put subs under their seat. There is the options I am going to use...there is a headliner that has speakers in it and a place to put a stereo up in it. There is also pre formed kick panels that has speaker holes. I dont remember which catalog has the ones with out the speakers in them...they come without the speakers and then you can put anyones you want in them. A amp can be mounted under the seat.

Re: I need stereo system ideas

I opted for some pre-molded fiberglass speaker pods with map pockets from Old Dog Street Rods for my highs. I read too much about the kick panel speaker pods getting in the way of the dimmer switch I shy'ed away from them. But I moved the tank long ago, and that's where my 4-10" woofers are. There's also another set of 5's in the console I built, along with 2-2" tweeters in the back by the woofers. Amps under the seat, and cross-over mounted under the rear window in the box/cosole I made. My set-up is definitely not worthy of any competition. But it sounds good enough for me. And the only thing that tells anyone I even have any stereo equipment in the truck is the cross-over. It's the only thing visible when you look in the cab.

There's not too many options if you leave the tank behind the seat tho. You move it, and you can go nuts.

Re: I need stereo system ideas

nope, luckily, i would have been sad if it would have been cut. I already know the radio im gna put in it, its the concours USA-630(i believe). It fits right in where the original AM is at, no cutting required

Re: I need stereo system ideas

Looks pretty similar to the lmc one. Do you mind sharing how much it set you back?

How tough was the install? Does it get in the way of the headlight dimmer switch?
