Big Brake upgrade... which booster/mc/prop valve is needed?

So da burban will soon be moving under its own power. That being said I need to be able to stop it. I bought McGaughys 13" setup for the front and rear a while back so I will be using that.

What booster/master cylinder/ proportioning valve setup would be appropriate for such big brakes and being both disc front and rear?

How hard is it to mount the booster directly to the firewall instead of using an adapter bracket?

Thanks in advance.

What are the specs on the calipers front and rear? Doesn't McGaugheys have a recommended bore size master for their kit? You will need a master that is designed for a disc/disc system. Many use the Corvette master cylinder. For a proportioning valve you will need either a fixed disc/disc valve or else an adjustable valve in the rear circuit.

You can mount a booster directly to the firewall, but you will have to drill the holes. What I don't like about doing than is 1) That most likely won't provided the necessary connection between the pedal bracket and the booster/master 2) The new holes often end up in a not so convenient location. The inside of the firewall is not perfectly flat, there are formed stiffening ribs and the pedal bracket to contend with.

Re: Big Brake upgrade... which booster/mc/prop valve is needed?

Thanks Capt Fab. I called McG's today and they gave me a part number for their kit. I looked it up and it is a 1 1/8" bore.

So now to find parts that will work. I have had your bracket for a couple years now time to put it to use. The kit they had matches nothing under the hood color wise.... so now in search of pretty parts lol.
