5 lug to 6 lug conversion

Hey guys. I searched and couldnt find anything. I have a 83 C10 stepside. Is it possible to convert it to 6 lug with axle and front suspension parts from a 88-98 truck? If so, what all would i need? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

Re: 5 lug to 6 lug conversion

No need for 88-98 parts. Use the common 'disc brake' conversion rotors for the HD 73-87 spindle. They're 1.25" rotors & come in 5 or 6-lug. The rear is as simple as swapping 73-87 4wd axles into the current 5-lug rear end.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Ok cool. So for the front, can i get these parts from the local yard or do I have to order from LMC Truck?

I wouldn't order anything from LMC that I could find elsewhere....

That being said, most of the board supporting vendors can supply you w/the correct rotors to do the 6-lug pattern w/the 73-87 spindles. Go to the 'Suspension Marketplace' link @ the top of the suspension forum page. The rear axles would be a local yard type part....

Re: 5 lug to 6 lug conversion

or just take your existing axles to a machine shop and have them re drill them to the 6 lug pattern.
