Intake gasket

Just some info to hopefully help others picking the right gasket for your intake manifold. I have tried several including the hard blue type to be used only for cast iron intakes and the Edelbrock one the guys at the speed shop gave me. Although I don't believe anyone of them leaked I was not happy with the fit. The Edelbrock gasket was to big and I had to lift the valve cover gasket to get it aligned and the openings where much bigger than the ports on the heads. After some looking around I found that the Felpro 1256 gaskets had smaller openings and fit much better around the ports. There is more material above and below the ports than the Edelbrock. Everything lined up great. I believe these at 1/16" thick.

I also ended up using Permatex #2A in the bolts and don't have any leaks. I previously used black silicone and got leaks right away.

BTW my intake is an Edelbrock 2101 on a 72 350.
