Any guys in East AL/ West GA?

hey guys, i came across a '63 on Craigslist the other day in Tallapoosa, GA...it looks to be a pretty decent truck, short bed, 307, lowered, etc...i'm looking at possibly doing some trading...however, i wanted to see if anyone is near that area that might be able to check the truck out for me before I make any 5-hour trips that aren't necessary...just let me know if you could help me out...thanks!

btw, here's a link to the truck:

yeah, i thought so too...my only concern is how much rust it might have...the guy said it was "middle of the road" when considering rust...he said it was in the normal places these trucks rust...but that's why i'd like to get someone to check it out for me...that way i know if it's too much rust or not...hard to tell any rust from the pics

well, i have the pics that are on Craigslist as well as a pic of the interior and engine bay...i talked to him again, and he said that there is rust in the rockers, lower fenders, & cab corners...he said he built it as a "rat rod" sorta look...he said he bondoed a few spots, & it has a few dings here and there...he installed the pine wood bed himself...it has a bit of a rear main leak...the engine was in it when he bought the truck from an old man...it had been sitting for about 6 yrs. he said...but the engine hasn't been rebuilt or anything, just routine maintenance stuff...it has all new suspension with spindles/springs up front & springs out back...new front discs (6-lug rotors/calipers) & brakes...new chrome bumpers/handles/headlight bezels from LMC...Coker wide whitewalls with 5 yr. warranty...he said it has electric fans, but the radiator could be updated...he said it runs fine, but it tends to get hot if you get stopped in traffic for long...basically, it is just a toy he takes to shows (rat rod style)...so i'm not sure it's worth the money...it looks cool though...and it might be worth that price...but i've found a few others that look to be in better shape that are cheaper

Thumbs up Re: Any guys in East AL/ West GA?

One good idea is to take videos. Maybe you can ask homeboy to take videos of the truck all over inside and out. If he want's to really sell it, he may Video it. Worth a shot.

Wow, that thing looks so much like mine...it's unreal.

Well, now I know what mine will look like with the grill and the roof fully painted white, kinda like it.

If the rust isn't too bad, I think it might be worth a little less than he is asking.

Good Luck !!
