Drum to disk conversion
Hey everyone,
I'm looking to convert the front drum brakes to disk brakes. I looked around for a couple of kits but most of them are 5 lug. I want to keep my truck a 6 lug. So if anyone has done this can you please help me out by sharing pictures or knowledge... Also most kits are saying if your truck is a 70 or older you need to modify the firewall, again pictures or knowledge on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!!!! Posted via Mobile Device |

I haven't seen the parts YET but ordered a kit for the front of my 70 3/4 ton in 8 lug from Tucker's Classic Parts. They assured me they are American made. The price was OK but not killer. Look at the 6 lug kit and see if it's what you need.

I looked at summit at a conversion kit, unfortunately it was a 5 lug, but they left a note saying: Summit® disc brake kits are manufactured to meet or exceed DOT standards. Kit includes 2 in. lowering spindles. Kit includes braided brake lines. 5 x 5 in. bolt pattern. Will only work on trucks equipped with a bail-type master cylinder cap retainer. Will not work on trucks equipped with a bolt-on master cylinder cap retainer.
Then I checked CPP for a kit and found a 6 lug kit, once again there was a note saying: Kits will fit 1967-70 trucks when modifying the firewall. Here's the link to CPP's 6 lug kit http://www.classicperform.com/Store/...0CBK-55213.htm Posted via Mobile Device |

www.EarlyClassic.com would be my first choice.
