Redneck bed straightening!!!

Isn't it about working with what you got?? Just anchored the straight side to the house and pulled over the bent side. Have to do a little work around the tail lights but it worked perfect!!! Bought this tailgate for $75 and the top and front are straight as an arrow. Just have to pull one tiny dent on the inside!!!

Re: Redneck bed straightening!!!

I have done tricks like that myself but I usually use the old oak tree out front. Nice looking gate for 75.00

Re: Redneck bed straightening!!!

No trees on my block. I'm in the burbs.

The gate must have been on a pavement princess. there is just about zero signs of things being set on it.

Funny thing is that I bought a bunch of truck parts off this guy for $160. On of the things was an in the box NOS, brand new A/C complete control with fan switch. I sold just that on eBay for just about what I paid for everything so the tailgate was actually free!!!! heehaw!

Re: Redneck bed straightening!!!

Actually....it was extremely tough....you have to have Jedi-Knight skills to pull if off! lol

No, it's really not hard if you take your time. Here is a link to my build thread that kinda spells it out. You just have to be willing to sacrifice your bed. There is no going back from this mod but I think the tough factor makes it worth it.

Yup, my house would have collapsed with my luck. There's no subsititute for some creative ingenuity.
