Deep wheel hubcap removal

Anybody got a slick way of removing the poverty type dog dishers from deeper style wheels. I always sweat the process .. seems they want to dent because of the odd angle of attck I have to use.

Re: Deep wheel hubcap removal

I use one of those brake adjustment tools that has a severe (like over 90 degrees) angle with a piece of wood between the wheel and the tool.

I use this method too. It doesn't hurt the caps. I go real slow when I do it so I don't dent the Hubcaps.

I use a hup cap remover. Its old. Not sure you can find one easily. You can make one. It goes straight in and has a lip bent back about 95 or so degrees. The lip is rounded then ground down to a thin edge. On the back side of the angle is a round rod. Would not be too hard to make.

Nice wheels. If those are the 9.75" wide 16.5s I just sold a set to a board member. I also just got another set in. They do look good.

Mine are powdercoated,too(since`91).I haven`t chipped mine yet.You could always put duct tape on for good measure.
Frank,wish you were closer.I`m a "correct vintage bigger 8-lug wheel" fanatic.(wide oem-type,turbines,and slots)

Those must be the 1/2T, 6-lug 15x8s. I couldn't tell in pic.
I have an extra set of those too!
