16.5 tires...
Can anyone tell me what size a 9.50/16.5 is in inches? I tried looking but couldn't find out. Also, if anyone is running 16.5 in rims on a 2wd 3/4, what size tires are you running? thanks

Re: 16.5 tires...
Not sure what dimension you are looking for in your question, what you stated is the actual tire size as printed on the tire itself - but, Firestone makes the tire for that wheel - tire model is Transforce (available in HT or AT - AT is a bit more for off-road):
Shown in the close-up and on a truck with the exact same wheel tire combo (all are HT versions). |

Re: 16.5 tires...
I just picked up a 69 C20 2wd. It currently has 9.5 x 16.5 in front and 33" x 12.5" on 16.5 in the back. There isn't much selection for 16.5" wheels (except in the 4x4 lifted community). The wheels on my truck are wide (10" I think) ...so I am thinking of putting 33x12.5 all the way around. I think it will clear all the suspension and fenders in the front.

Re: 16.5 tires...
Jojaboy, lmk if those 33s fit. I have a set of slots i really want to put on my 3/4 ton 2wd but there isnt a whole lot of selection for a set of tires that will fit the width and not be 33+ inches tall.

Re: 16.5 tires...
I was told by a friend that they would fit with no rubbing. True test is to do it and see. As dumb as it may look I think I'm going to move the back to the front and front to the back and see how the 33's clear. (won't leave it that way....just to check fitment)
I also plan to get some shackles and drop the back end down a couple inches just to take the rack out of the stance. I don't want to change the suspension ride but would like to level it out. 33's should clear back even with leveling shackles. |
